The Shop Of Dreams is a workshop for building projects, but also with the premise that any creative space has the potential to change the world and how people think about space, energy, time and creativity. I am a very “green” person and a large aspect of what I think about is how to make the dream projects with minimum environmental impact and maximum people impact. The physical plant of the SOD is a 48’ by 60’ two story steel building I built for the purpose. It now houses a full set of woodshop tools on wheels, salvage materials and parts of ongoing projects.
In 2008 on the campus of Aveson Charter school in Altadena we did the first official project of the Shop Of Dreams. Students helped with all aspects of design and construction of a solar hot water heater and a solar oven. The results were wonderful to see and eat.
